Tower Grove South
International dining alongside parks and walkable streets
Tower Grove South is the aptly named neighborhood just south of Tower Grove Park. The area is largely residential with two main business strips - one near the western edge along Morganford Rd, and one on the eastern edge along South Grand Blvd. There are a few cafes and bars scattered around the rest of the neighborhood.
Along Grand, you’ll find a wide variety of international restaurants, from Brazilian and Mexican to Indian, Persian, and Lebanese, to Thai, Vietnamese, and Cantonese. There is also Apotheosis Comics, a local comic store, and Dunaway Books, a local used bookstore.
Impressions#
St. Louis does not generally have many concentrated immigrant communities (aside from Bevo Mill’s Bosnian presence and a few Mexican restaurants along Cherokee Street) so it’s great to see such an array of international flavor all in one spot.
It seems like Tower Grove South is seeing a lot of vibrancy and revitalization and is one of the more interesting neighborhoods in the city to explore.
