St. Louis Hills
Charming, family-friendly neighborhood
The tagline for St. Louis Hills was “Country living in the City” when the neighborhood was first developed. There are the “St. Louis Hills Estates” on the southern end of the neighborhood, which are traditional-style large suburban lots and homes, and the rest of St. Louis Hills, which are more traditional style homes that all circle around Francis Park.
During Christmas, a St. Louis tradition is to go get frozen custard at Ted Drewes then walk down Candy Cane Lane, a strip of homes in St. Louis Hills that go all-out with Christmas decorations.
Impressions#
St. Louis Hills is one of the more suburban-esque neighborhoods in the city. It is as far to the south west in the city as you can get, but not too far from the main commercial strip on Hampton, and another along Route 66 where Ted Drewes and LeGrand’s Market is.
The proximity of all the homes along Francis Park and Willmore Park gives the residents ample green space, and it’s not far from Maplewood and Webster Groves to the west.
