Bono's Pizzeria

Deep dish and STL-style in a friendly neighborhood spot

I was highly impressed with both the Chicago deep dish pizza and the St. Louis-style pizza at Bono’s Pizzeria on Hampton. The St. Louis style had a crisp, almost tavern-style pizza like quality to it, and the deep dish was incredibly authentic.

The deep dish at Bono’s is my second favorite deep dish I’ve ever had - Lou Malnati’s being my favorite. Bono’s does a similar style, with a fresh, chunky tomato sauce on top and a crisp, almost pie-like crust. The only thing that puts Lou’s over the top for me is the entire sausage disc they use. I like Bono’s more than Pequod’s, and significantly more than Giordano’s or Gino’s East.
