Midtown

The arts and innovation core of the city

Midtown is an area wedged between Downtown and Forest Park that is seeing a lot of revival right now. One of the biggest draws of the area is the City Foundry, a food hall and market built into a restored vacant foundry building.

The Cortex Innovation Community is the tech hub St. Louis, providing a coworking and office space for startups and businesses.

I’m hopeful about these projects that are being implemented to help stimulate the economy and add more energy and vibrancy to the city. Between the office spaces, the theatres, the food halls and other dining, there’s a lot going on in Midtown.

Midtown does not feel very walkable - the food hall is surrounded on all sides by highways, so it’s not as easy to get to as other food halls that are located right in a downtown walkable area like in Nashville. There’s a large Ikea and some large office buildings and a lot of space dedicated to parking lots.
