Dogtown

Dogtown is an unofficial neighborhood made up of four city neighborhoods: Cheltenham, Clayton-Tamm, Franz Park, and Hi-Pointe, and also consists of part of one additional area called Ellendale. (I didn’t feel like trying to figure out exactly where the bounds of Ellendale exist for Dogtown, so I just left it off the map boundary.) Dogtown sits just south of Forest Park and north of Manchester Rd. It is historically the Irish neighborhood in St. Louis, and hosts a St. Patrick’s Day parade.

Impressions#

I haven’t spent much time in Dogtown yet, but I’ve been to a few restaurants, like Hi-Pointe, Failoni’s, Seamus McDaniels, and Mac’s Local Eats. My impression was that it’s a place with a tight-knit working class neighborhood feel and a few local bars and restaurants. It’s also close to Forest Park, which would be a big pro if you lived in this area.
