Central West End
An upscale urban neighborhood near Forest Park
Central West End is an upscale urban neighborhood in St. Louis city. It sits right along Forest Park and has a walkable downtown vibe. It’s the biggest and most populated neighborhood in the city, and is often recommended for new transplants.
It’s also home to Up-Down Arcade, an arcade full of retro games, craft beers, and a pizza window.
Impressions#
Of all the neighborhoods I’ve explored, Central West End has the most vibrant energy. You’ll see people walking around and sitting at outdoor cafes and restaurants, or visiting the various book stores and boutique stores. I think Central West End is competing with Downtown as “the place to be” for tourists, transplants, and residents.
